Real Homes, Real Art, Real Life

How many times have you looked at a magazine to see a gorgeous, perfectly styled and designed home?  Like, every time right? And the same goes for our social media feeds, targeted ads and interior design blogs.  And it can make you start to believe that everyone's homes looks like this, everyone has the latest colours, latest couch style and cool rugs... but let's be real.  Our homes usually just evolve over time, we buy furniture when we need it, we pick up odds and ends without matching them to our millwork design - and seriously, how many people actually even have millwork design? I for one, love my little rented 1960s rented apartment in the Westend Vancouver.   I share it with my (messy) fiance, (hair-shedding) pup, and soon to be baby (boy).  But you know what, we make it our own.

Don't get me wrong though, I LOVE interior design.  I love trend watching, style predicting.  And I love when my artwork is placed into these gorgeous spaces.  But, I love even more when my clients find me because they love my art, and they connect with it on an emotional level.

So don't let those images make you feel that your home is inadequate.  There's nothing better than making a space your own and creating your own style.  Don't be shy to send me photos of your home and let me help you figure it out too!  Because with all things art, the possibilities are really limitless.

Here are just a few of my real life client's homes, and how they have placed my artwork into them.
